Flavio Remo Bar composer / arranger

Born in Turin in 1964, Flavio Bar graduated in trumpet and attended courses in band music direction and composition under the guidance of maestros Desirè Dondeyne and Johan De Meij at Riva del Garda. In 2006, he was awarded second place (first not awarded) at the "Pellegrino Caso" National Band Composition Contest at Vetri sul Mare with his composition "SHERWOOD" and recognition from the National Band Music Committee of France for "CAMELOT", which also went on to become part of the set pieces for national competitions. He received special mention in 2007 with his piece "IL CASTELLO" at the "Pellegrino Caso" National Band Composition Contest at Vetri sul Mare, and was awarded second prize with "CLASSIC SUITE" at the "Città di Sinnai" International Youth Band Composition Contest in 2008. He received special mention in 2009 at the "Città di Gubbio" International Band Composition Contest with his piece entitled "ENERGETIC MARCH". In 1996, he was entered in the National Dictionary of Wind Music, edited by Marino Anesa. He directed the Turin Municipal Police Force Band from 1987 to 1994, and then from 1997 to 2008, and was awarded second prize (first not awarded) at the "G.Panzini" National Competition in Condove in 1998. He directed the "G. Verdi" band in Caprie, Turin, from 1990 to 2005, and the local Caluso Municipal band between 2005 and 2008. Since 1988, he has also been Artistic Director for the "Carmagnola Municipal Band". Flavio Bar has been a member of the national register of officials for band music composition and execution since 2009, and is also a member of the UN.E.CO.B. executive committee (association of band music editors and composers).
