William Scribner arranger

American bassoonist. Born 1939. Died September 16, 2016.
In 1972, he founded the Bronx Arts Ensemble.
Scribner was a principal bassoonist for the American Symphony Orchestra, the Long Island Philharmonic, the Brooklyn Philharmonic, New Jersey State Opera Orchestra and Chautauqua Symphony. He has performed with the New York Philharmonic, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, New Jersey Symphony and in numerous Broadway productions.
He was a member of the Phoenix Wind Quintet and Leonia (NJ) Chamber Players, and has been a faculty member at the University of Connecticut at Storrs, Queens College, Rutgers University at Newark and the Bloomingdale House of Music in New York. He was also manager of the Colonial Symphony in Madison, NJ, and has made many arrangements for wind quintet, published by International Opus.
