Ramon "Ray" Ricker ist ein klassischer und Jazz-Interpret, Musikpädagoge, Komponist und Arrangeur.
Ricker war Professor für Saxophon, Direktor des Institute for Music Leadership und Senior Associate Dean für professionelle Studien an der Eastman School of Music der Universität von Rochester. Er ist emeritierter Professor für Saxophon und interimistischer Direktor des School for Music Leadership. Neben einer Karriere als darstellender Künstler und Studiolehrer war er Direktor des Catherine Filene Shouse Arts Leadership Programms, ist Chefredakteur von Polyphonic.org und war ein Affiliate Faculty: Jazz Studies und zeitgenössische Medien.
Als leitender Administrator bei Eastman half Ricker Eastman's Institute for Music Leadership zu gründen, mit seinem "Arts Leadership Curriculum", das Kurse in Entrepreneurship, Karrieren, Leadership, Performance, zeitgenössischen Orchesterproblemen und der Verletzungsprävention und -rehabilitation von Musikern anbietet; und sein Zentrum für Musikinnovation. In September 2013, the Eastman School of Music honored Ricker as the first faculty member to receive the Deans Medal[3] in recognition of extraordinary leadership, dedication, service and philanthropy.
