Pierre Wijnnobel composer / arranger

Pierre Jean Carel Wijnnobel ( Leiden , August 5, 1916 - Amsterdam , January 9, 2010 ) was a Dutch composer , lyricist and musician .

He was best known for the many songs he wrote. His most famous own composition was "I want flapper milk with sugar" by The Amboina Serenaders . He also made successful translations, such as "A mouse in a mill" by Rudi Carrell , "Willem, wake up" by The Butterflies , "Don't say no" by The Fouryo's and "In de bus from Bussum to Naarden" by The Skymasters .

Wijnnobel himself played bass guitar and trombone in various jazz bands , including The Ramblers and The Moochers. Later he had his own orchestra for years . Until a very old age he also ran a Bed and Breakfast hotel on the Vossiusstraat in Amsterdam . He passed away at the age of 93.
