*Ulm, 29. November 1908, +Ulm, 25. November 1996. Dem Musikstudium in München bei E. Bach (Klavier), K. Pottgießer, Müller Prem (Komposition) und Hugo Röhr (Dirigieren) folgten Jahre praktischer Tätigkeit als Korrepetitor und Kapellmeister an den Theatern in Ulm, Memmingen und Kaiserslautern sowie im Kurorchester Bad Tölz. Über Heidenheim und Biberach (1952 bis 1968) kam Kühmstedt nach Ulm zurück, um die Stadtkapelle und die Knabenmusik zu dirigieren; 1974 in Ruhe.
