Orchestra Fiati di Valle Camonica arranger
Founded in 2003, the Orchestra di Fiati di Vallecamonica is an original and innovative group on the Italian musical scene.
It is formed by approximately 60 players selected from the best musicians of the Vallecamonica and the Brescia province. Among its members are several graduated from the Conservatories of Darfo Boario Terme, Brescia, Bergamo and Milano who share the mission of providing the public with a high profile ensemble. The Orchestra is an important point of reference in an area where the wind band tradition is very well established.
During the first 14 years of activity the Orchestra di Fiati di Vallecamonica reached important goals in Italy and in Europe, taking part to important national and international festivals such as the Ultrapadum Festival in Voghera and the Festival Internazionale of Besana Brianza (Italy), the Mid Europe Conference in Schladming and the Innsbrucker Promenadekonzerte (Austria). The orchestra also holds a yearly concert seasons all over Italy, always supported by excellent results in terms of public and critic reviews.
The Orchestra pride itself with three important results at the prestigious Concorso Internazionale Flicorno dOro in Riva del Garda (Italy) where earned a first place in the First Category in 2007, a second place in the Superior Category in 2011 and a first prize in the Excellence category in 2016. In 2012 earned the first place in the Excellence Category in the International Contest Vallée dAoste in St. Vincent (Italy) with the highest score ever in the history of the contest (95,15/100).
In 2009 the orchestra recorded for the Radio Svizzera Italiana in Lugano (Switzerland) a concert that was broadcasted at a later rime. In the same year the Fiati di Vallecamonica presented the world first performance of the piece Due Momenti, written expressly for the ensemble by the composer Andrea Morricone. The several national and world premieres of original music for winds and percussions, highlights the leading role assumed by the orchestra among the bands in Italy.
Several internationally renowned musicians have performed as guests with the Orchestra. Such artists include Diego Gatti (trombone), DevidCeste (trombone), Mate Bekavac (clarinet), Steven Mead (euphonium), Øystein Baadsvik (tuba), Ronald Romm (trumpet, founder of Canadian Brass), Giuliano Sommerhalder (trumpet, Rotterdam Phil), Stefan Schulz (Bass Trombone, Berliner Philarmoniker), Roberfto Miele (La Scala, Milan), Ronald Johnson (conductor, University of Northern Iowa, USA), Douglas Bostock (conductor), Johan de Meij(composer/conductor), Andrea Morricone (composer).
Since its foundation the orchestra is conducted by Denis Salvini.
