geboren in Ahlainen, Finnland, 28. Oktober 1958. Lehto studierte Flöte am Konservatorium in Turku sowie an der Sibelius-Akademie in Helsinki; Diplom 1987. Meisterkurse absolvierte er bei Hans-Martin Linde, Peter-Lucas Graf, István Matuz und William Bennett. Als Komponist schreibt er sowohl für den Amateur- wie für den professionellen Bereich interessante, dem Neoklassizismus nahestehende Werke. Doch finden sich auch Avantgarde-Techniken, wie freitonale, minimalistische und aleatorische Passagen, in einzelnen Kompositionen.
