Josep Ros Garcia composer
Born in 1983 in Sumacàrcer (Valencia).
He holds a degree in Composition from the Conservatorio Superior "Salvador Seguí" in Castellón. He also studied Percussion, Pedagogy and Conducting at the Conservatorio Profesional "Mestre Vert" in Carcaixent, the Conservatorio Superior "Joaquín Rodrigo" in Valencia and the Escuela Comarcal de la Vall d'Albaida.
He is the author of works for band, chamber music and didactic material. As a composer he has won several awards, including First Prize in the composition competitions "Villa de Benidorm" and "Francesc Cerdà" in L'Olleria, Honourable Mention in the composition competition "Poble de Muro", Third Prize in the competition of Meaño (Pontevedra), as well as the special mention of the musicians in the same event, and has been a finalist in the composition competitions of Villena, El Verger, Almoradí, Finestrat and Cartagena. He has been a member of the jury in different composition competitions and band contests and some of his works have been compulsory works in different contests. He is a member of the SGAE (Sociedad General de Autores y Editores), COSICOVA (Asociación de Compositores Sinfónicos de la Comunidad Valenciana) and ACMMIC (Asociación de Compositores de Música de Moros y Cristianos). Some of his pieces have been premiered in various auditoriums throughout Spain, including the Palau de la Música de València, the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía and the Auditorio de Ribadumia, in Pontevedra.
