Jerry Nowak (1936-2015) was a professor of music at Bucks County Community College in Newtown, Pennsylvania. He directed the college's Symphonic Band, Jazz Ensemble and Swing Singers. Jerry has over 800 published arrangements and compositions for instrumental and vocal ensembles. He was a founding member (1968) of the Philadelphia Saxophone Quartet, where he played baritone saxophone. He worked for years as a woodwind doubler and session singer in the greater Philadelphia/New York area. He has conducted professional recording sessions in New York, Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and London. His conducting text, Conducting the Music, Not the Musicians was published in 2002.
