Jacques Rizzo composer / arranger

Dr. Jacques Rizzo is the author of over 200 educational publications ranging from a songbook for the kindergarten and primary classroom to a set of texts on how to read jazz. In addition to original works for concert band, marching band, orchestra, and chorus, his publications include transcriptions of classical artists and arrangements of American works by both contemporary composers and popular songwriters. Having been selected for state and national lists, Dr. Rizzo's works have been recorded on eight Crest albums and have received favorable reviews in The Instrumentalist, Jazz Educators Journal, School Musician, and Choral Journal. Dr. Rizzo has directed instrumental and choral ensembles at both elementary and secondary levels, and has been an adjudicator at various festivals in New Jersey and New York. In addition, he has worked for the New Jersey Council on the Arts and has served as Supervisor of Fine Arts for the Wayne Township Public Schools in Wayne, New Jersey. He has presented workshops for ACDA, MENC, IAJE, and NJMEA. Dr. Rizzo received his doctoral degree from New York University.
