The Dutch composer Adrianus Giesen (18431916) received his musical training from his uncle Hendrikus van der Sanden and from Brother Gregorius van Dijk. His talent as an organist became evident at an early age. In 1868 he served as organist at the minor seminary De Kuilenburg' in Culemborg.
