Giusto Severo Pertinace Dacci ( Parma , 1 September 1840 - Parma , 5 April 1915 ) was an Italian composer and teacher of music.
From 1851 he studied at the Regia Scuola di Musica in his hometown. At the institute he was a piano student with Riccardo Grunter and Giovanni Rossi, graduating in 1860 with full marks. In January 1862, the piano teacher died and was thus appointed alternate until 1864, when he was given the chair of harmony. In 1875, he was appointed director and teacher of composition. In 1888, with the abolition of the school and the foundation of the current Conservatory, Dacci kept his post as teacher, while Giovanni Bottesini became director. He had a student of composition the young Arturo Toscanini .
Dacci published a complete method for solfeggio, which is still very well known and used today.
