For more than 40 years, Frank Erickson has devoted his career to music education, and ranks as one of the profession's best-known and most influential composers and arragers.
Before he was 10, Frank began his study of trumpet and piano, and during his last year in high school composed his first concert band number, The Fall of Evening. Following four years in the service during World War II, he began his writing career as a jazz arranger and, as his interest in serious music grew, he began studies in composition with Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco. He later entered the University of Southern California as a composition major and while a student began arranging half-time shows for the USC Marching Band. By the time he received his masters degree from USC he had several published band numbers, the first of which was Liittle Suite for Band. During the '50s his career soared with the publication of such perennial favorites as Balladair, Air for Band, Fantasy for Band, and Toccata for Band.
He has over 400 publications including 200 original works for band and is active as a composer and guest conductor, both in the United States and abroad.

John O'Reilly is one of the most-performed composers of band music in the world today. A recipient of numerous ASCAP awards, he has studied composition with Robert Washburn, Arthur Frackenpohl, Charles Walton and Donald Hunsberger. Mr. O'Reilly graduated from the Crane School of Music, State University of New York at Potsdam. In addition, he is the recipient of a Masters of Arts in composition and theory from Columbia University. His years of teaching experience at elementary through college levels has provided him with insights and sensitivities to the needs of both student and educators. As co-author of "Accent on Anchievement", the "Yamaha Band Student" and "Strictly Strings", Mr. O'Reilly has made a major impact on contemporary instrumental music education.

John O'Reilly ist heute einer der meistgespielten Komponisten für Bandmusik der Welt und wurde mit zahlreichen ASCAP-Preisen ausgezeichnet. John Kinyon holds degrees from both Ithaca College and the Eastman School of Music, as well as an honorary doctorate from Limestone College in Gaffney, SC. He has served as an instrumental music director and music department head for several school districts, as educational director for Warner Brothers Music in New York, and as a professor of music education at the University of Miami, Florida. Since 1982, he has been semi-retired in Tuckasegee, NC. John Kinyon is a prolific composer of educational music and has published original marches, ballads and overtures totaling over 250 for Alfred. His works range in difficulty from Grade 1 to Grade 3, and are written in a variety of styles.

John Kinyon schloß sowohl das Ithaca College als auch die Eastman School of Music mit einem akademischen Grad ab. Außerdem verlieh ihm das Limestone College in Goffrey, SC, die Ehrendoktorwürde.
