Elena Roussanova Lucas composer / arranger

The music of Elena Roussanova Lucas has been performed and heard around the world. Her prolific writing encompasses many diverse styles including music for orchestras, wind ensembles, chamber ensembles, solo pieces as well as Broadway and popular style songs.

A partial list of organizations and artists that have performed Elena's works include: The Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, The Tchaikovsky State Orchestra of Moscow, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Music Director, The Russian National Orchestra Brass Quintet, members of the Bolshoi Ballet, The Dallas Brass, violinist Charles Castleman, trumpeter Terry Everson, Ballet Lubbock and others. As a composer for Warner Bros/Alfred Music Publishers, since 2001, Elena's compositions have been regularly chosen for Editor's Choice distinction by the J.W. Pepper Co. Several of her pieces for orchestra, string orchestra and wind ensemble are included on many different U.S.A. state music lists including Virginia, Texas, Florida and others.

From the age of three, Elena started her music education in a school for "Wunderkind" in Moscow, Russia. She received her degrees from Ippolitov-Ivanov Academy/College of Music, Moscow and the Tchaikovsky Conservatory (Summa Cum Laude), Moscow, where she was a composition student of Tikhon Khrennikov and Tatiana Choodova.

As a pianist Elena has performed extensively in Moscow, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and the U.S.A. She is the recipient the first prize in a Russia Wide piano competition. Her piano students have won competitions as well as acceptance into the Moscow Conservatory school, Salonica Conservatories among others. Elena is an Assistant Professor in the Composition Department in Boston's Berklee College of Music. Previous work experience includes Boston University, Texas Tech University, Boston Ballet School and Ballet Lubbock. Elena is a member of the prestigious United Russian Composers Union and is in demand as a clinician and conductor presenting clinics across the U.S.A., Costa Rica and Russia.
