Andrew Skirrow composer / arranger

Andrew Skirrow began his musical life as a horn player, enjoying a busy freelance career with the likes of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, The Chamber Orchestra of Europe, and the Orchestra of the Royal Opera.

Always a keen arranger, demand for his music grew to the point where he founded Camden Music as a publishing business, initially to market his arrangements for wind instruments and his Urtext editions of Mozart Wind music. Early projects ranged from Gershwin, Renaissance dance music, through specially commissioned Urtext editions of Handel arias for Kiri Te Kanawa and Christopher Hogwood, to working on an Oliver Knussen opera with Faber Music.

The business rapidly grew into a successful publishing imprint, renowned not only for the quality of the music, but also the quality of the technical production, leading to the setting up of the services division of the business.
