Alphons Van Stenis arranger

Alphons van Stenis studied at the Brabant Conservatory in Tilburg. His main subjects were trumpet and brass band conducting. He obtained the highest possible diplomas in both major subjects.

As a trumpet player, he works as a freelance musician and soloist with various ensembles and orchestras. He is also a brass teacher at various music schools.

Alphons studied conducting with, among others, Jean Pièrre Laro, Anne de Vries and Jan van Ossenbrugge. During his second phase of HAFA conducting, he studied with Jan Cober. He concluded this study with the predicate “very good”.

He currently works as a conductor with four wind orchestras, all in the highest division. He also regularly works with professional musicians. Together with the professional ensemble “Fiatti Complesso” he performed many premieres. As a guest conductor he performed with, among others, “Koninklijke Harmonie Orpheus” from Tilburg, Koninklijke Harmonie “Sophia's Vereeniging” from Loon op Zand and “Muziekvereniging Wilhelmina” from Glanerbrug. Alphons is also active as an arranger of larger works. Many of his arrangements have now been published.
