Alan Gout composer / arranger
Alan Gout is the musical director of the Berkeley Square Society Band. After reading music at Oxford and a stint as a pub pianist he toured with the D'Oyly Carte Opera as a trombonist. His versatility soon led to extensive theatre work which included composing and arranging incidental music for several National Theatre productions and musical direction for the Royal Shakespeare Company. Alan has also worked as a conductor for London City Ballet and English National Ballet and as a musical director for Children's TV programmes, all the while gaining a reputation as an expert arranger and composer of original light music, especially in the educational field. He is increasingly in demand as a writer of notes for concert programmes and record sleeves.
