I wrote the whole of the first complex as a real inferno, using virtually nothing but noises. These end on the lowest note of the violin, which is also the starting point for the profound shock. While the first section is headed ?sempre con fuoco e infernale? the headings for the following section are ?misterioso e religioso? followed by ?con calore? in an attempt to come to terms with these terrible, dreadful events. I have tried to end the piece in a way that will bring comfort to those concerned. Ruth Zechlin

J'ai écrit la première partie toute entière comme un vrai enfer n'utilisant que des bruits. Ceux-ci se terminent à la note plus basse du violon qui est en même temps le point de commencement du choc profond. Tandis que la première partie est intitulée ?sempre con fuoco e infernale?, les parties suivantes portent les titres misterioso e religioso et con calore dans l'intention d'assimiler ces événements terribles et cruels. J'ai voulu que la pièce finisse d'une façon consolante pour ceux qui sont concernés. Ruth Zechlin
