Blechlawine Martin Scharnagl

Since 2019, the idyllic forest festival grounds in Mayrhofen in the Zillertal (Tyrol) have been the setting for a very special musical highlight: the Blechlawine festival. With the idea of creating a small yet exquisite wind music festival that stands for comfort and the highest quality, a platform was created for fans of wind music that unites tradition and modernity. One of the permanent fixtures of the festival is the ensemble Viera Blech, which has the honor of performing at Blechlawine year after year. Inspired by this special connection, organizer Gerhard Meister had a remarkable idea: to commission a polka that captures the unique flair of the Blechlawine in music.

The resulting Blechlawine Polka impressively reflects the soul of the festival it is cozy, high-quality, traditional and modern, varied and emotional all at once. These qualities also perfectly describe the composition by Martin Scharnagl, a specialist in sensitive and unmistakable polkas. With the Polka Blechlawine, another musical gem is added to his body of work. Just like his successful previous works Zeitlos and Neue Wege, this piece also impresses with Scharnagl's signature style and the unique character of Viera Blech.

The polka is further proof of how wonderfully wind music can move and inspire a real treat for fans and festival visitors alike. You can hear the polka on Viera Blech's anniversary CD 20 (20 Years of Viera Blech).
