The European Overture is an enthusiastic and amazing opening dedicated to and premiered by Jan Cober and the European Union Youth Wind Orchestra in Luxembourg, 2013. As a clarinetist member of the EUYWO (2009, 2011 and 2013), not only was Pérez Garrido fortunate enough to work with maestro Cober and many of the most talented European young musicians but he also made a lot of good friends. This incredible experience motivated him to compose one of his most renowned works.

Als klarinettist in het EUYWO had componist Pérez Garrido niet alleen het voorrecht met maestro Cober en een groot aantal van de meest getalenteerde jonge Europese muzikanten samen te werken, maar maakte hij ook veel goede vrienden. Deze geweldige ervaring motiveerde hem om de nu al succesvolle European Overture te componeren.
