for Cello (or F Horn). "I Masnadieri" is a four-act opera by Giuseppe Verdi with a libretto by Andrea Maffei, based on Friedrich von Schiller's play "Die Räuber". It was commissioned by the London opera director Benjamin Lumley and was first performed at Her Majesty's Theatre in July 1847, with Verdi conducting the first two performances.
