The Lady Caliph is Ennio Morricone's main theme of the 70's Italian drama film La Califfa directed by Alberto Bevilacqua, entered into the 1971 Cannes Film Festival. After Andrew Pearce arranged and transcribed this beautiful theme for cello & chamber orchestra for the film 'If I were you' (2012), it seemed a perfect choice for expressive euphonium solo and Band.

The Lady Caliph est le thème principal par Ennio Morricone du film dramatique italien La Califfa, mis en scène par Alberto Bevilacqua, qui participa en 1971 au Festival de Cannes. Après que Andrew Pearce eut transcrit ce thème splendide pour violoncelle et orchestre de chambre pour le film If I Were You (2012), il lui semblait convenir parfaitement pour une orchestration pour euphonium et harmonie-fanfare. Le résultat est une nouvelle uvre vraiment resplendissante pour euphonium solo.

Nadat Andrew Pearce dit prachtige thema had omgezet en gearrangeerd voor cello en kamerorkest voor de film If I Were You (2012), leek het hem uitermate geschikt om te orkestreren voor euphonium en band. Het resultaat is een werkelijk schitterend nieuw muziekwerk in het repertoire voor solo euphonium.
