Roger Grove composer
1938-1978
Roger Grove was a graduate of the University of Tulsa, where he received Bachelor of Music degrees in piano and piano pedagogy and the Master of Music in piano. Before coming to UCSB, he served on the faculties of the University of Tulsa, the New School of Music study in Princeton, New Jersey, and Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
As a pianist, Roger performed widely both as a soloist and with chamber music ensembles and was always particularly proud of the years he was pianist with the UCSB Fine Arts Trio. With this ensemble he performed frequently in this country and toured England, Norway, and Poland in 1972 with great critical acclaim. His concert and recital appearances as a performer during the years he was associated with UCSB number close to one hundred.
