Tunes from Lofoten / Fra Borge Torstein Aagaard-Nilsen

This piece was commissioned by Borge Brass Band with support from Borge Sparebank in 1997. They suggested some folk tunes from Lofoten for the composer, from which he chose two of them. The two folk songs are Herre Gud, dit dyre navn og ære and Jesus, dine dype wunder og din smertefulle død
Fra Borge is a part of the suite Viking Spirit together with the movements Fra Ryfylke (Tunes from Ryfylke) and Norwegian Dance.
This Concert Band version of the suite was written to the Royal Norwegian Navy Band and their conductor Nigel Boddice.
