*Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 14. Januar 1878, +Crafton, ebda., 13. Mai 1953; sein Bruder Louis J. Panella, *Pittsburgh, 1881, +ebda., 13. März 1940. Beide Brüder gehörten seit früher Jugend verschiedenen Blasorchestern ihrer Geburtsstadt an. Frank dirigierte später die Blasorchesterkonzerte im Distrikts Park, die Grand Army Band und die Westinghouse Air Brake Band. Als "March King of Pittsburgh" gründete er zudem einen eigenen Musikverlag. Louis Panella komponierte ebenfalls mehr als zweihundert Märsche und volkstümliche Stücke. Er unterrichtete Trompete am Carnegie Institute of Technology.
