Zdenek Divoky composer
Zdenek was born in Zlín in 1954. He studied at conservatory in Brno with prof. Frantiek olc starting in 1969, then at JAMU in 1975-1980. In 1973 he became a member of the State Philharmonic Brno and performed as its French horn soloist in 1975-79. He has been a member of the Czech Philharmonics French horn group since 1979.
During his studies he took a part in numerous competitions home and abroad. He is the laureate of the Ministry of Culture national competitions in 1973, 74, 76 and international competitions Markneukirchen 1974, 1976 (2nd and 3rd place), the Prague Spring Festival 1974, 1978 (3rd and 1st place), ARD Munich (3rd place). He worked with numerous chamber ensembles the trio Tres Moravi (Brno) and Foerstrs Brass Quintet (Brno), then Prague Brass Trio and Prague French Horn Trio, the Czech Brass Harmony and the Octet of the Czech Philharmonic with Bohuslav Matouek in the lead. As a soloist he has recorded numerous CDs an LPs, radio and TV recordings (see the attached list of recordings). As a soloist he performed in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, England, Spain, Italy, Holland, Japan and Canada. In 1991 he and his colleagues Jindrich Petrá and Jirí Havlík founded the Horn Music Agency Prague, which annually organizes international courses HORNCLASS in Nové Straecí.
