William J. Perconti composer / arranger

Bill Perconti is a Professor Emeritus from Lewis-Clark State College (ID). Currently he is an Adjunct Instructor of Saxophone and Woodwinds at South Puget Sound Community College in Olympia, WA.


As a classical saxophonist, Perconti and his numerous recordings have made a substantial contribution to the profession. Bill Perconti has recorded over 30 world-premiers on 13 recordings since 1994 as a soloist and leader of the Alloy Saxophone Quartet, the LCSC Chamber Players, and the Idaho Saxophone Trio. Perconti’s six solo/ensemble CDs are with the leading independent record companies Albany, Centaur, and Crystal Records. Perconti also contributed to six volumes on the Arizona University Recording series America’s Millennium Tribute to Adolphe Sax and to Volume IX of The Chamber Music of Nancy Van de Vate on Vienna Modern Masters Recordings.

He has recorded with pianists James March (Morningside College, IA) and Kay Zavislak (Western Washington U.), guitarists James Reid (U. of Idaho) and Paul Grove (Gonzaga U.), vocalist Martha Sheil (U. of MI), bassist Pat McNally (Spokane Symphony), and the U. of Iowa Brass Quintet. Currently Perconti is soprano saxophonist with the Pacific NW-based Alloy Saxophone Quartet that includes professional saxophonists Sean Fredenburg, Duke Sullivan, and Erik Steighner.
