Vito Andrea Morra composer

Born in
Bari the september 29, 1966.
Graduated in Classical guitar and in Jazz at the Conservatorio "N. Piccinni" di
Bari; he also studied Composition and Trombone.
He studied arrangement and composition for jazz orchestra with Giancarlo
Gazzani e Bruno Tommaso at Seminari “Siena Jazz”, becoming assistant too.
After being third classified for two consecutive years, he won the first prize at
the international big band composing and arranging contest "Barga Jazz"
with the original "Shamango Night" and, in 1992,
the first prize at the
international big band composing and arranging contest "Scrivere in Jazz" in
Sassari with an arrangement of the famous song
"Nel Blu Dipinto di Blu".
He writes arrangement for the "Italian Big Band", (Marco Renzi conductor)
and he has been invited several times as arranger and conductor by the
Orchestra Sinfonica dell'Amministrazione Provinciale di Bari; he is also
arranger and conductor of some others jazz and pop orchestral ensembles.
He has been for several years leader arranger and conductor of the rhythm -
symphonic "Orchestra città di Andria", recording a C. D. with it in october
1998.
Actually he sings and writes for the vocal ensemble “Palazzo Incantato”
(Sergio Lella conductor).
He teaches "Jazz composition" in the Conservatorio di Musica “N. Piccinni” in
Bari.
