Peter Blair composer / arranger

An accomplished composer and arranger, Peter Blair (Blair Bielawski) has over seventy compositions and arrangements in print, as well as many commissions for college, high school and middle school groups throughout the United States. ASCAP recently recognized him for his compositions for young jazz ensembles and vocal jazz choir.

As a performer, Blair has worked with many artists including Natalie Cole, Manhattan Transfer, Johnny Mathis, Aretha Franklin, the Temptations, Lionel Hampton, and the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. As a clinician, he has presented numerous workshops at various state music educators conferences, has been the featured speaker for sessions in London, Toronto and Vancouver, and has appeared as a clinician at jazz festivals with Bob Mintzer, Frank Mantooth and Doug Beach.

Blair is currently the Creative Instrumental Director for Heritage Music Press. Before joining the Lorenz team, he was a member of the Hal Leonard editorial, arranging, and sales staff for seventeen years, working on all aspects of the instrumental catalog. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Wisconsin Music Education Association and the Retail Print Music Dealers Association.
