Paul J. Caliendo (b. 1 December 1946) is an American teacher and composer.

Mr. Caliendo is a graduate of Shore Regional High School in West Long Branch, and a graduate of Monmouth University where he received his BA and MAT and graduated cum laude. Prior to entering the field of education he was a professional touring musician who performed throughout the northeastern and central United States with the band Waterfront.

Paul began teaching in Point Pleasant Borough in 1982 as the 6th grade band director at Memorial Middle School. In 1991, he became the high school band director, and in 2007, he became the fifth-grade band director at Nellie F. Bennett and Ocean Road Elementary schools, where he currently [2011] teaches. His groups attained Superior ratings at National Band Association Concert Festivals at The College of New Jersey. His bands also played for many World Series games at Yankee Stadium and marched in three consecutive ticker tape parades in New York City. In the marching arena he initiated the Competition Band program at the high school in 1992 and his marching groups won United States Scholastic Band Association (USSBA) State Titles as well as 5 USSBA Grand Championships.

Paul is an active local musician and a private instrumental music teacher. He plays in high school and community theater pit orchestras and in the summer he plays with the Toms River Municipal Band. He is a Gold Member of the American Federation of Musicians Local 399. He also performs as an actor in local community theater.
