Michael Iorio is a graduate of Mansfield University - Pennsylvania where he studied with Dr. Adam Brennan and Professor Conrad Alexander, receiving his B.A. in Percussion Performance. In his studies at Mansfield, Michael had hands on experience with teaching percussionists throughout all levels of playing ability. During his time at Mansfield he was a composition student of Dr. Andrew Walters. Michael is engaged in a variety of musical groups performing with and writing for various instruments and styles. While singing and playing bass in a touring original reggae band, Michael performs with regional orchestras, various mixed chamber ensembles, and also several fusion music groups. While percussion is his most used skill, composing for the concert hall is his passion. Michael plans to continue his education with a Masters degree in Composition and a Doctorate degree in Music Theory. Michael happily endorses Salyers Percussion.
