Brand Michael London, 1952. Er absolvierte das University College of Oxford, um danach als Dirigent und Fagottist seine Berusflaufbahn zu beginnen. 1979 trat er als Mitarbeiter in die BBC ein, 1982 wechselte er zum Verlag R. Smith & Co. und konzentrierte sich auf Komponieren und Arrangieren für Blasorchester und Brassbands.
