Menno Haantjes composer / arranger

Menno Haantjes was born in 1962 in Balk. Here he took his first music lessons and played with the local wind orchestra. At the conservatory of Leeuwarden he studied conducting, trombone and the theory of music. For the first two main subjects he obtained respectively the 'Practice Diploma Harmony and Fanfare' and the 'Act Teaching Musician'.

Since 1986 Menno Haantjes has been working as a copper teacher at various music societies and music schools. Since then he has conducted a number of brass bands and brass bands. Lately he is also active as a composer and arranger and he is an engraver for various music publishers.
