Marvis Rorie, Jr. has been an educator in North Carolina public schools since the fall of 2000, serving as a Band Director on the middle and high school levels. In addition to being a public school educator, he has served as an adjunct faculty member at Catawba College and at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. His first published piece, Yellow the color of joy, is included on North Carolinas Music Performance Assessment list in the Grade V category, and has been performed internationally. Marvis has been selected to be a clinician, has been a guest conductor in several areas of the state and is a member of NAfME, NCMEA, SEDBA and Phi Mu Alpha, Sinfonia.
