Marcella Crudeli ( Gondar , April 16, 1940 ) is an Italian pianist.

Born in Gondar, Ethiopia, two months before Italy's entry into the war in the Second World War , after a three-year period in a concentration camp and a troubled journey as a refugee to return to Italy, he returns with the family in Rome and began studying piano at the age of 5.

In 1951, at the age of 11, he appeared in the LUCE newsreel performing in duo with the pianist Bruno Aprea the Ritual Dance of Fire by Manuel De Falla .

He trained at the school of Heinz Scholz, Bruno Seidlhofer, Giuseppe Piccioli, Alfred Cortot and Carlo Zecchi . She graduated with full marks, honors and special mention from the Milan Conservatory . She also completed further studies at the Mozarteum in Salzburg , at the University of Vienna and in 1970 she graduated in opera singing at the Taranto Conservatory.

He carries out a brilliant career with about three thousand concerts in over eighty countries on five continents, both as a soloist and in chamber ensembles, on behalf of entities such as Piccola Scala in Milan , Wigmore Hall in London, Salle Gaveau in Paris, Teatro Real in Madrid, Accademia of Santa Cecilia in Rome, Petruzzelli Theater in Bari and Colòn Theater in Buenos Aires, Chapelle du Bon Pasteur in Montreal, St. Petersburg Philharmonic and Enescu Philharmonic in Bucharest), Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto and world broadcasting.

She has also performed together with famous conductors with numerous orchestras (Accademia Santa Cecilia in Rome, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, RAI in Turin, "Scarlatti" in Naples, Radio-Television Française, Hamburg Kammerorchester, "RIAS" in Berlin, Verdi Theater in Trieste, Symphony of Tel Aviv, Municipal Theater of Genoa, "S. Carlo" of Naples, Taipei Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonic of Bacau, Symphony of Istanbul, Symphony of Brisbane, Sicilian Symphony of Palermo, "Musical Afternoons" of Milan, " Kol Israel ").

Former teacher of principal piano at the "Alfredo Casella" Conservatory of L'Aquila from 1968 to 1973 and at the "Santa Cecilia" Conservatory of Rome from 1988 to 2004, she was also director of the "Luisa D'Annunzio" State Conservatory of Music in Pescara. For twenty years you have held master classes in Paris, first at the École Normale de Musique “Cortot” and then at the “Schola Cantorum” . In 1993 she was appointed Emeritus Professor at Sakuyo College in Tsuyama .

She has been artistic director of numerous music festivals (Udine, Formia, Velletri, Morcone, Vasto) and is a member of the jury and president of national and international piano competitions. She is founder and president of EPTA-Italy (Italian Association of Piano Teachers) part of the European Piano Teachers Association, of which she has also been European president. She is the founder and president of the “Fryderyk Chopin” Cultural Association which has organized the “Rome” International Piano Competition since 1990.
