Leigh Kaplan 60, MA 63 (MUS) was a teacher at several colleges, maintained a private studio, was a published composer and arranger for the Willis Publishing Co., wrote two one-woman plays and performed them around the country, edited the play (Chopin and Candlelight) on the relationship between Chopin and George Sand and performed it with longtime friend Lincoln Mayorga. She soloed with the Boston Pops on two occasions under the direction of John Williams. She also made a recording of arrangements of the piano pieces of Madeline Dring, which she commissioned Lenny Niehaus to arrange for a jazz quintet.
