Ladislav Daniel ( May 29, 1922 Sendraice - February 16, 2015 Olomouc ) was a Czech music teacher, amateur instrument maker and musician who contributed to Bohemia being called a nation of recorder players .
In 1949-50 he taught English at the Commercial Academy in Prerov and music education at the Fucík Pedagogical School in Olomouc (1950-60). In 1961-1972 he was the head of the Department of Music Pedagogy at the Pedagogical Institute , which in 1964 was transformed into the Faculty of Pedagogy at Palacký University in Olomouc. From 1968 to 1969 he was briefly deputy dean for science . He also acted as chief judge of national recorder competitions. He used his knowledge of English, German, Russian, French, Dutch and Danish at international congresses on music education. He lectured and published at the Pedagogical Institute in Halle (1964), at the Aalborg Conservatory (1970), participated in ISME (International Society for Music Education) congresses in Budapest (1964), Dijon, Bristol, Warsaw and Moscow. He founded and methodically directed the elementary school with extended music education in Olomouc . He was a member of the Violinists Club of the Union of Czech Composers and an editorial member of the magazine Musical Instruments (1952-1960).
