*Sterzing, Südtirol, 4. Februar 1894, +Innsbruck, 23. Juni 1955. Er studierte Musik bei Josef Pembaur und Josef Schwammel in Innsbruck, Augsburg und in Wien, wo er 1919 die Staatsprüfung ablegte. Ploner entfaltete als Lehrer in verschiedenen Tiroler Orten und in Innsbruck eine rege Tätigkeit, er gründete und leitete Chöre, gab Konzerte auf der Orgel und als Cembalist und hinterließ ein umfangreiches kompositorisches Oeuvre.
