Jef Penders ist auch ein sehr bekannter niederländischer Komponist von Blasmusik. Er ist auch immer sehr aktiv gewesen als Dirigent, Arrangeur und Aufnahmeleiter.

Penders Jef (Joseph Gerardus Johannes)
*Hoensbroek, Niederlande, 21. Oktober 1928. Penders erhielt die musikalische Aus-bildung am Konservatorium in Maastricht. 1959 übernahm er dort das Amt des Chordirigenten der Großen Lambertuskirche, daneben leitete er Amateurblasorchester in Hoensbroek, in Sittard, in Heerlen und in Brunssum. Sein umfangreiches kompositorisches Schaffen zeichnet sich durch Vielfalt und das Überspringen von stilistischen und Gattungsgrenzen aus. Neben traditionellen Techniken verwendete er Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten modischer Popularmusikformen sowie der Avantgarde.
