Jan van Landeghem composer
date of birth: 28.11.1954
Currently he is professor Composition at the Royal Flemish Conservatory of Brussels and director of the Academy of Music of Bornem (Antwerp).
He has been chosen as member of the board of Sabam (Autors Rights) in Brussels.
Together with Jenny Spanoghe he is the founder of the Mirecourt Summercourse
He won more than 15 composition prizes in Europe and abroad among which:

He lectured at the Universities and Conservatories of Prague, Brno, Hiroshima, Georgia State USA, Gent, Montréal, Cracovia, Bologna etc.
Van Landeghem gave recitals in most European Contries, Asia and the USA. He made recordings for VRT radio and the Dutch radio. Selected as Fulbright Scholar he thought at Georgia State University and conducted major works of Bach, and gave organ recitals with Bach and Flemish Music.
He conducted in Europe the famous boys choir In Dulci Jubilo, the chamber choir Concinentes and the string orchestra Landini.
Together with his wife, the famous violinist Jenny Spanoghe he plays organ, harpsichord and piano.
As composer he wrote more than 150 works and arrangements. He got commissions from several Symphonic Orchestras, Professional Choirs, Ensembles, Stringquartets etc. His works have been recorded at many CDs.
