Musik für die Kirche
J. Paul Williams composer / arranger
J. PAUL WILLIAMS (1937-2010) felt a call to minister through music at the age of 13, while attending a youth camp. He later studied vocal performance at Oklahoma Baptist University and received a master's degree in church music from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. In his early years, Williams wrote the music and texts for his works, while his wife, Donna, a pianist and cellist, developed accompaniments. Together, they produced over 200 songs. Throughout his career, Williams has worked with over 50 composers, including Lloyd Larson and Mark Hayes. In addition to his early works, over 700 hundred of Williams' songs have been published by 26 various publishers. Popular works, such a "Who Are the Brave?" have been featured on occasions of national and international importance. Williams has ministered in churches in Oklahoma and Texas, and served 17 years as the minister of music for Calvary Baptist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas.
