*Berlin, 3. April 1915. 1935 trat Nieswandt in ein Luftwaffenmusikkorps ein, arbeitete nach dem Ende des Zweiten Weltkrieges als Unterhaltungsmusiker und freier Mitarbeiter des Rundfunks in Bayern und bei AFN, ehe er die Militärmusikertätigkeit 1956 in München wieder aufnehmen konnte; 1969 in Ruhe. Danach dirigierte er die Stadtkapelle Bad Tölz sowie die Blaskapellen in Tegernsee und Lenggries.
