Arlen Harold geboren in Buffalo, New York, 15. Februar 1905, †New YorkCity, 23. April 1986. Sein musikalisches Talent führte ihn in der Mitte der zwanziger Jahre nach New York, wo er für zahlreiche Broadway-Shows und Musicals die Musik schrieb, am bekanntesten davon: “The Show is On” und “9:15 Revue”. Von seinen Filmmusiken fanden weite Verbreitung: “The Wizard of Oz”, “A Star is Born”, “Kismet” und “Bluesin the Night”.
