Guillaume Le Picard composer
Guillaume Le Picard was born in 1986. In 2002, he attended the Conservatoire National de Région of Paris, in F.MACAREZs percussion class. He obtained a first percussion prize, unanimously, in 2006, as well as the diploma "Département Supérieur Formation Orchestre" in 2009.
He has taken part to some international competitions:
- first prize of the PASIC Percussions Group international contest in USA (2009),
- first prize with the group Argillos Percussion of the FNAPEC contest in Paris (2009)
- finalist of the classic musics young talents contest in Paris (2009).
- first prize of the PASIC timpani international contest in USA (2006),
- third prize of PASIC compositions international contest in USA , with Abaca music for Marimba Solo (2007)
- 3 second prizes of international contests of marimba and timpani in Italia and Paris (2006).
He performs in several groups, including Argillos Percussions, Paris Percu (appearance in Seoul Drum Festival in Korea), the group Badaboum Quartet and the Orchestre de Picardie(France).
In 2009, he gave a recital of his own compositions at the University of Seoul. Currently, he devotes himself to the composition of music for percussion such as "Abaca", written for Marimba Solo, "Ditamik" for multiple percussion. He also writes for other instruments as "Claritmik" , written for Clarinet B-flat Solo.
