*Washington DC, 10. September 1930. Er absolvierte die Catholic University und trat danach (bis 1957) in die US Air Force Band ein. Als Lehrer wirkte er an Schulen in Fairfax County, Virginia. 1971 gründete er die Velke Publishing Company.
