geboren in Bad Luhacovice, Mähren, 4. Oktober 1921, +Brünn, 21. Dezember 2004. Sein Großvater und sein Vater leiteten dörfliche Blaskapellen. So wuchs Frantisek Mañas in musikalischer Umgebung auf und wandte sich früh der Blasmusik zu. Sein kompositorisches Schaffen umfasst etwa 440 Werke volkstümlichen Charakters. Er war als Regisseur am Sender Brünn des Tschechischen Rundfunks tätig.
