Alexandre Carlin composer / arranger
Clarinetist, Alexandre Carlin is a French composer, arranger and conductor.
Since 1996, he has been director of the music school of the city of Bû, in Eure-et-Loir and conducts the young band there as well as the concert band.
At the same time, he was from 1996 to 2013 the musician-copyist of the French National Police Band. From 1995 to 2000, he was associate director of the young band of Eure-et-Loir (France).
Associate professor of music, since 2013 he has been a professor of music education and choral singing at the Charles de Gaulle college in Bû, and since 2019 at the Rotrou high school in Dreux.
He holds a degree in musicology issued by the French University of Paris IV Sorbonne, a state diploma in musical ensemble conducting, a CEM in composition obtained at the conservatory of Mantes in Yvelines and a diploma of aptitude to the direction of musical societies (DADSM) issued by the Confederation Musicale de France (CMF).
He also took courses in music composition for movies at the Levallois-Perret conservatory in the class of Pierre Manchot.
Passionate about wind bands, he is the author of more than 200 works, including many educational pieces often imposed in competitions and exams.
He received 1st prize in the composition competition organized by the Confédération Française des Batteries-Fanfares (CFBF) in 2003, and 1st and 2nd prizes at the same competition in 2004.
