Brass Quintet with optional Timpani: Three hymn tunes of differing natures associated with Pentecost themes (Johann Cruger's Grafenburg, the plainsong Veni Creator, and the Welsh hymn melody Arfon) are used for melodic materials in this work for brass quintet. With optional trombone 2 (substitute for tuba) and optional timpani.
