The present Sechs Duos für zwei Flöten by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart are transcriptions of chamber music works in various settings by the master, which Wilhelm Barge and Emil Wehsener edited for this publisher at the turn of the last century, following similar editions published by André and by Simrock 100 years previously.This new edition attempts to correct certain irregularities in the bibliographic references caused by the first editors. Obviously it was not possible to create a scientific' new edition: these Duos are post-compositions which retain Mozart's original melodic line but otherwise treat the musical material very freely. Their purpose is to present pleasant-sounding, flute-oriented and thus easily performable music. Further Information regarding the true origin of the pieces can be found at each of the Duos.

Pour les Sechs Duos für zwei Flöten de Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart présentés ici, il s'agit de transcnptions d??uvres de musique de chambre du Maître avec différentes distributions, qui furent présentées à cette édition par Wilhelm Barge et Emil Wehsener aux alentours de la fin du siècle dernier. Ces arrangements avaient déjà été publiés 100 ans auparavant par l?édition Andre et Simrock.Dans cette nouvelle publication, on a tenté de corriger certaines inexactitudes dans les indications bibliographiques données par les prédécesseurs. Il doit être clair, qu'il ne put être question de produire une nouvelle publication plus scientifique en effet, ces duos sont des post-compositions, qui suivent certes le développement mélodique donné par Mozart, mais dont le texte original est cependant très librement interprété. Leur arrangement repose entièrement sur la présentation d?un morceau musical aux sonorités agréables, adapté pour la flûte et facilement interpretable.De plus amples informations sur l?origine de ces morceaux sont données avec chaque duo correspondant.
