The Russian Piano Method is testament to a highly developed methodology for teaching piano in Russia, which encourages the student in a lively yet purposeful manner and has gained great recognition in international piano pedagogy. The approach of the two-volume standard work, edited by Julia Suslin, is deliberately based on training student's perception of sound and is aided by focusing on listening practice, alongside the technical aspects of playing piano. In this way, the student acquires knowledge of the most important elements of piano playing in a short period of time. The two-volume method can be mastered in about two to three years. The Russian Piano Method is now also available as edition with two CDs recorded by Kassel-based pianist Annette Töpel, which support the practical learning of the music. In addition to the version without CDs, which is still available, the CDs of the Russian Piano Method can also be purchased separately.
